Foreign tourists visiting Ho Chi Minh City rose 10.1% year on year. The city earned VND 73 trillion (US$3.13 billion) from tourism in the first half of this year, a rise of 16.6% over the same period last year.

In order to attract more tourists, in the last six months of this year, the department will continue implementing its plan to build new and diverse products.

The city will also build a strategy to develop meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) tourism towards 2025.

In addition, the city will coordinate with outlying Cu Chi district to develop agricultural tourism in association with the national target programme to build new-style rural areas.

Alongside, an ecotourism model in Thanh An commune of suburban Can Gio district will be formed, along with the completion of seven river tourism routes.
