123,000 solar panels have been installed with modern technology and equipment in the BCG-CME Long An 1 solar power plant

Present at the inauguration ceremony included former State President Truong Tan Sang , Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Committee of Long An province Pham Van Ranh, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Hoang Quoc Vuong, and Mr. Abdulmalik-Abdullah Zahir Al Hinai, Advisor to the Ministry of Finance by decree of the Sultanate of Oman and Chairman of the Advisory Council of Viet Nam-Oman Investment Fund

This is the Joint Venture between Bamboo Capital Group (BCG) - Copper Mountain Energy (CME) and Viet Nam-Oman Investment Fund (VOI).

It is one of the first solar power plants to be inaugurated in Long An province and integrated into the national electricity grid.

The BCG-CME Long An 1 solar plant was built on an area of 50.2 hectares, with an installed capacity of 40.6MWp, total investment of VND 1,088 billion.

The project began its construction from September 2018, whereby 123,000 solar panels have been installed with modern technology and equipment, promising to operate at high level of efficiency. These panels will absorb the sun's radiation and convert it into electricity that is dissolved into the national electricity grid.

Taking every cautious step in the development, this solar power plant is a proof of a fruitful cooperation with the world's leading partners in the solar industry in terms of technical, construction and environmental structures.

BCG-CME Long An 1 solar power plant once officially put into operation will generate electricity with an output of 57 million kWh / year. This electricity output is nearly equal to the annual electricity consumption of 22,000 households in Vietnam, estimated to reduce CO2 emissions by about 16,000 tons / year.

“BCG-CME Long An 1 solar power plant is implemented and operated with consistent policies and specific support mechanisms that are important for Bamboo Capital Group (BCG)”, said Nguyen Ho Nam, Chairman of the Bamboo Capital Group.

The BCG always focuses on investing in sustainable values by proactively anticipating the world trend with the policy of developing renewable energy”, he added.

Speaking at the event, Abdulmalik-Abdullah Zahir Al Hinai hailed the Vietnamese Government for having taken many initiatives to encourage investments in renewable and clean energy to support the country's development in a sustainable way.

He also appreciated the initiatives of the Vietnamese Government in promoting  and incentivizing investments in renewable energy, especially wind and solar energy. And as the investment cost of renewable energy continues to decline, the country’s efforts in reducing carbon emission from electricity production will continue to accelerate.

“Following BCG-CME Long An solar energy plant, we will continue to invest and build other large-scale renewable energy projects in Viet Nam and specifically, Long An,” affirmed Abdulmalik-Abdullah Zahir Al Hinai.

Earlier on June 22, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh also visited the solar power plant, where he highly appreciated the efforts of the parties who helped bring this solar power plant to life and also on this occasion./.
