ODA disbursement ups 9% in first half

VGP - Nearly US $1.3 billion of official development assistance (ODA) was disbursed in the first half of this year, realizing 67% of the annualized plan and posting a year-on-year rise of 9%, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

In June alone, ODA disbursement stood at US $550 million, 3.8 times higher than the average amount of the first five months.

Between January and June, Hồ Chí Minh City realized 118% of its annualized plan on ODA disbursement.

Meanwhile, Hà Nội fulfilled 57% of its ODA annualized plan.

Ministries, localities and sectors have recently simplified procedures regarding ODA disbursements, the Ministry of Planning and Investment said.

Việt Nam has targeted the ODA disbursement of US $1.9 billion this year, including US $1.6 billion in loans and US $300 million in non-refundable aid.
