PM greets Filipino investor

Viet Nam and the Philippines enjoy a fine and traditional ties, PM Phuc said,  applauding the trade and investment ties between the two countries. The PM hoped to listen to difficulties and obstacles facing  the JG Summit Holdings in Viet Nam. 

President Lance Y. Gokongwei said that the JG Summit Holdings was listed in Top 300 Asian leading companies by Nikkei Asia Review. The firm started doing business in Viet Nam in 2003, specializing in food and beverage. The company has proactively expanded export and advertized “Make in Viet Nam” in ten countries. Total accumulated investment capital touched US$ 200 million with over 3,000 workers. 

The guest leader expressed the aspiration to penetrate into the  tea sector in Viet Nam and engage in public private projects in favor of tea sustainable growth. The CEO revealed that JG Summit Holdings has already crafted a plan to promote plastic recycling. 

In reply, PM Phuc said that Viet Nam’s export-oriented processing is potential and the country encourages the processing of products with added value for export. 

He also noticed the requirement of food hygiene and environmental protection for enterprises. 

The Vietnamese Government affirmed PM Phuc would create every favorable condition for the group to do successful business in Viet Nam. 

He went on to say that Viet Nam has crafted a plan on non- plastic bags, hoping that the group would join the effort in minimizing plastic bags./.
