Deputy PM Hue starts tours to Myanmar, Republic of Korea

VGP – Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue left Ha Noi on Sunday for working visits to Myanmar and the Republic of Korea (RoK) from June 16-23 at the invitations of the Governments of Myanmar and the RoK.

He is accompanied by Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Vu Dai Thang, Vice Chairman of the Government Office Nguyen Sy Hiep, Deputy Foreign Minister To Anh Dung, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Quoc Khanh, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Ha Cong Tuan, Deputy Minister of Finance Vu Thi Mai, Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Nhat, Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Le Quan and Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Viet Nam Nguyen Thi Hong.

The visits aim consolidate Viet Nam’s friendship, trust and cooperation with Mynamar and the RoK, particularly in such fields like economy, trade, investment, and finance-banking.

Specifically, Hue will discuss with Myanmar’s leaders on ways to accelerate the signing of an action program to implement the bilateral comprehensive partnership, established in 2017, for the 2019-2024 period, and to facilitate Vietnamese businesses’ investment in the country.

Meanwhile, Hue’s top priorities in the RoK include seeking ways to sustain strong trade and investment ties with the Northeast Asian country.

Both sides set the goal to increase two-way trade value to US$100 billion by the end of 2020.

Especially, during his stay in the RoK, Hue will co-chair the first Viet Nam-RoK economic dialogue./.
