Two pilots killed in military aircraft accident in central region

VGP – Two pilots were killed in a military accident in the central province of Khanh Hoa this morning, according to the Ministry of National Defense.

The IAK-52 aircraft of the 920 Regiment lost contact with the operation control center at 09:35 on the way back to the airport after completing the training lesson.

The two victims are captain Le Xuan Truong of the First Squad of the 920 Regiment and sergeant Dao Van Long, the Ministry said in an announcement on Friday.

Truong died inside the aircraft while Long passed away on the way to hospital.

The Ministry said it has directed relevant agencies to coordinate with the Air Defense-Air Force to investigate the cause of the accident, promptly addressing the consequences of the case and supporting families of the victims./.
