Japanese funds established in VN

VGP - Japanese joint-stock company Dream Incubator (DI) has announced the establishment of the Dream Incubator Asia Industrial Fund (DIAIF) and the DI Việt Nam Fund to assist Vietnamese enterprises specializing in exporting and producing goods to replace imports.

The DIAIF with total capital of US $50-100 billion is scheduled to be put into operation in late July or early August.

The DI Việt Nam Fund will have capital of at least VND 40 billion (nearly US $2.4 million).

The DI presence in Việt Nam will benefit domestic enterprises, especially after the Việt Nam-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement takes effect in October 2009.

From the date, over 90% of Vietnamese exports to Japan will enjoy tariff exemption or reduction.

DI has hoped to become a reliable partner of Vietnamese enterprises, and a solid bridge which helps Japanese companies access the Southeast Asian investment market.
