Gov’t chief receives Chairman of the RoK-VN Parliamentary Friendship Group

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc suggested Viet Nam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) strive for US$ 100 billion in trade turnover by 2020 while receiving Chairman of the RoK – Viet Nam Parliamentary Friendship Group Kim Hack Yong.

PM Phuc hailed Mr. Kim Hack Yong for his regular visits to Viet Nam which represented the concerns and sentiments of the group for Viet Nam. 

According to PM Phuc, the bilateral ties have flourished vigorously and effectively. Political confidence and mutual understanding have been consolidated and strengthened. Viet Nam said PM Phuc extremely attaches importance to the youth generations of the two countries and praised the important roles of the RoK-Viet Nam and Viet Nam-RoK parliamentary groups. 

Mr. Kim Hack Yong congratulated socio-economic achievements which Viet Nam has attained over the past time, expressing his gratitude to the Government, the PM, and Vietnamese people for creating favorable for Koran businesses and people to do business and integrate into the society. 

The Chairman expressed the aspiration to work with Viet Nam to support the overseas Vietnamese community in the RoK and the Korean people in Viet Nam for their better lives. He revealed that the RoK would organize a summit to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the ASEAN-RoK relations. The RoK said the guest leader hopes to welcome the PM to attend the event at the year end. He also underlined the determination to work with parliamentary groups to nurture the bilateral ties. 

PM Phuc applauded the opinions, affirming that Viet Nam always attaches importance to the ties with the RoK and hopes to work with the RoK to elevate the bilateral ties to a new height. 

The host leader hoped that the RoK would continue to support Viet Nam including national defense and sports (especially football). 

He recommended the two sides strive for a US$ 100 billion two-way trade turnover by 2020./.
