NA adopts resolutions on building laws, ordinances in 2020, 2017 State budget balance

VGP - Two resolutions were adopted and two draft laws were tabled for discussion on June 11, the 17th working day of the 14th National Assembly’s 7th session.

The National Assembly passed a resolution on the legislature’s program of building laws and ordinances in 2020 and adjustments to the law and ordinance building plan in 2019 with 448 approvals out of 451 votes. 

Under the resolution, three laws are added to the 2019 plan, which are the draft law on adjustments and supplements to a number of articles of the Law on Judicial Expertise, the draft law on adjustments and supplements to a number of articles of the Law on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and the Dyke Law, and the draft law on adjustments and supplements to a number of articles of the Construction Law. 

Under the program for 2020, nine draft laws will be submitted to the NA’s 9th session, and seven submitted to the 10th session.

Earlier, the NA adopted a resolution approving the 2017 State budget balance with 443 approval votes out of a total 448.

According to the resolution, the total State budget collection surpassed VND1.683 quadrillion (US$72.1 billion), while the total State budget spending was estimated at more than VND1.681 quadrillion.

The State budget overspending was over VND136.9 trillion (US$5.87 billion), or 2.74% of the GDP.
