Scientific projects awarded

VGP - The Việt Nam Fund for Supporting Scientific and Technological Creations (VIFOTEC) on Monday announced its awards and the Swiss WIPO prizes for creative Vietnamese students in the field of science and technology.

The 35 awardees are studying six areas, namely information technology, electronics and telecommunications; environment protection and sound use of natural resources; mechanics and automatics; material technology; applied biology; and technologies to save energies and use new ones.

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) also awarded enterprises which excelled at applying intellectual property systems in their operations, best projects in mechanics and automatics, best female authors and best young innovators.

Through the Switzerland-Việt Nam project on intellectual property (SVIP), the Swiss Government has acknowledged and honored excellent student groups and individuals from higher education institutions across the country.

At least 18 students and nine prominent researches were ranked the first grade in the 2008 VIFOTEC technical competition.
