The international competitors come from the Philippines, China, Australia, and Spain.

They are strong and experienced teams who have ever won some international prizes. The Spanish team was the champion of the Malaysia International Fireworks Competition 2008 (MIFC 2008). The Australian team ranked the first in MIFC 2007. The Chinese team showed their talents at the Olympic Beijing 2008, while the Philippines won the first prize at their domestic fireworks event.

During the competition, various cultural, sports and tourist activities will be held, including a procession of flower boats along the Hàn River, a local gastronomic festival, classic drama programs, Famtrip programs for visitors from Thailand, Singapore and the Republic of Korea.

Moreover, on this occasion, numerous new tours will be opened.

The Municipal People’s Committee hopes that the competition will be an impressive cultural and tourist event in order to attract both domestic and foreign guests in early 2009.

It is reported that last year, the International Firework Competition 2008, the very first event of this kind was successfully organized, welcoming about 30,000 domestic and foreign tourists.
