Trade surplus hits US$711 million in four months

VGP – Viet Nam enjoyed a trade surplus of US$711 million over the recent four months of 2019, lower than the figure of US$3.7 billion of the same period last year, according to the General Statistics Office.

The nation’s exports and imports in the first four months of 2019 reach US$78.76 billion and US$78.05 billion, witnessing respective year-on-year increases of 5.8% and 10.4%.

As many as 16 items join the US$1 billion export club over the recent four months of 2019, making up 81.2% of the total export value.

U.S. maintains the largest exporter of Viet Nam, reporting a year-on-year increase of 28.4%.

The import values of 17 items exceed US$1 billion in the first four months of 2019, accounting for 76.3%.

China still takes the lead among Viet Nam’s largest import markets with the import turnover up 18.8%.
