PM chairs national videoconference on international integration

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc, head of the National Steering Committee for International Integration, presided over a national videoconference on enhancing international integration in a proactive, creative and effective fashion for rapid and sustainable development, in Ha Noi on April 23.

Among attendants were representatives from the Party and National Assembly bodies and the Presidential Office in charge of foreign affairs; leaders of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Viet Nam General Confederation of Labour, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, the Viet Nam Farmers’ Association, and the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and representatives from 63 cities and provinces nationwide.

In addition, the event featured the presence of representatives from some international organizations in Viet Nam, including the World Bank (WB), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the American Chamber of Commerce in Viet Nam (Amcham), the European Chamber of Commerce in Viet Nam (Eurocham), and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc, head of the National Steering Committee for International Integration, delivered his opening and closing remarks at the videoconference.

At the conference, delegates heard general reports on Viet Nam’s international integration in the period of 2014-2019 and focuses of international integration until 2021; the results of international integration in the fields of politics, security and national defense between 2014-2019 and focuses  until 2021; the results of international economic integration between 2014-2019 and focuses until 2021; and the results of international integration in the fields of culture, science, education and other fields between 2014-2019 and focuses until 2021.
