After the welcoming ceremony, the two PMs led the high-ranking delegations to begin the talks, identifying key cooperative areas in the time ahead.

PM Phuc’s visit to the Czech Republic is held in after 12 years of Prime Minister-level exchange and ahead of the 70thanniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.

The Czech Republic recognized Overseas Vietnamese (around 70,000 ones) as one of the ethnic minority communities.

In the 2014-2018 period, the bilateral trade value increased 68.47% from US$697 million in 2014 to US$1.2 billion in 2018. 

In 2018, Viet Nam ranked 36th among 200 trade partners of the Czech Republic. The Southeast Asian nation was listed among 28 largest exporters of the Czech Republic. Currently, Viet Nam is one of the Czech Republic's 12 prioritized trade markets.
