Accordingly, the PM directed the Mekong Delta province to accelerate the development of the intensive processing industry, enhance the quality of products associated with environmental protection, and closely monitor the quality of farm produce, agricultural supplies, and food safety and hygiene.

Bac Lieu was requested to synchronously implement agricultural restructuring measures in association with building new-style rural areas, strengthen the attraction of investment in agriculture and rural areas, effectively use investment resources, and expand the geographical indication for key agricultural products.

PM Phuc asked the province to pay attention to developing businesses and encouraging innovation and startups, striving to double the number of local enterprises to 4,000-5,000 by 2020, in addition to ensuring a favorable and equal business climate and stepping up the reforms of administrative procedures.

He insisted that Bac Lieu strongly boost the development of service industries, especially tourism, while creating favorable conditions for investors to implement tourism infrastructure projects, towards attracting 3-4 million tourist arrivals by 2020 and increasing the share of international arrivals.

The provincial authorities at all levels must uphold a sense of responsibility and build an administration of integrity and action in service of businesses and the people, the leader stated.
