He made the call on March 14 at his reception for a business delegation from the US-ABC led by President & CEO of the US-ASEAN Business Council Alexander Feldman.

Viet Nam has always created favorable conditions for and is willing to listen to recommendations from the US firms, said the Government chief.

Phuc said he had discussed frankly with  President Donald Trump on ways to open up new space for the two countries’ trade and investment cooperation during the pair’s meeting on the occasion of the second DPRK-USA summit in Ha Noi last February.

Moreover, the direct air route between the two countries will further facilitate bilateral trade, investment, tourism and cultural exchanges, said the Vietnamese PM as a vivid example of the growing relationship between the two countries.

He also took the occasion to ask members of the US-ASEAN Business Council to have long-term and sustainable operations in Viet Nam in a bid to contribute to strengthen the country’s connectivity to global value chain as well as the bilateral trade and investment cooperation.

For his side, Alexander Feldman congratulated Viet Nam on its successful hosting of the second DPRK-USA Summit, expecting that the bilateral relationship between Viet Nam and the US will be enhanced thanks to the US President Trump’s recent visit to Viet Nam.

He highlighted the significance of the year 2019 as the two sides will mark the 25th anniversary of the normalization of their diplomatic ties and the 35th founding anniversary of the US-ASEAN Business Council.

He hailed the Vietnamese Government’s activeness to hold dialogues and exchanges with the business community, including ones from the US as well as its active engagement in external economic negotiations.

Over the past week, the Council sent three business delegations to work with the Vietnamese functional agencies and they are our biggest-ever delegations to a Southeast Asian country, he said, adding that in this week only, more than 50 US leading corporations have come to Viet Nam.

Members of the US-ASEAN Business Council highly valued the economic outlook of Viet Nam, expressing their thanks to the Vietnamese Government, ministries and agencies for close coordination with the US firms to launch successful operation in Viet Nam, hoping that they would continue expanding their operation in Viet Nam in the time ahead./.
