Deputy PM, FM Minh holds phone talks with Malaysian FM

VGP – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh held phone talks with Malaysian Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah on March 12.

The two sides discussed on several aspects of the relationship between the two countries.

Regarding Vietnamese national, named Doan Thi Huong who was accused of killing a citizen of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in Malaysia in February 2017, Minh affirmed senior leaders and people of Viet Nam have paid great attention to the trial process.

He asked the Malaysian side to ensure fair trial and free Huong.

Minh and Saifuddin also agreed the two countries have coordinated closely on both bilateral and multilateral aspects.

They vowed to continue enhancing the exchange of delegations at all levels and regularly maintain bilateral cooperation mechanisms in order to further consolidate and deepen the Viet Nam-Malaysia strategic partnership./.
