Vietnamese Defense Minister holds talks with Filipino counterpart

VGP – Vietnamese Minister of National Defense Ngo Xuan Lich held talks with his Filipino counterpart Delfin N.Lozenzana on March 11 in Ha Noi.

Minister Delfin N.Lozenzana was on an official visit to Viet Nam from March 10-13 at the invitation of Minister Ngo Xuan Lich.

The two sides exchanged views on regional and respective situations and defense cooperation over the past time. They discussed the achievements especially after the two sides signed the agreement on defense cooperation in 2010 and the upgrading of strategic partnership in 2015.

They agreed that the defense cooperation progressed positively especially via exchanges of high-ranking delegations including the official visits, effective dialogues and consultations, navy cooperation, deputy ministerial-level policy dialogues.

The two leaders were unanimous in developing the relations in the coming time. Especially, the Philippines will support Viet Nam to organize defense and military conferences in 2020 when Viet Nam will assume the ASEAN chairmanship; promote cooperation in new areas including youth officers, defence industry, non-traditional security, air forces, and army medical corps./.
