Int’l cooperation promoted at local level

VGP – Many cooperative activities have been conducted over the past time to boost economic, cultural and educational cooperation between Việt Nam and other countries.

During their visit to Australia, the delegation of Hội An City (Quảng Nam Province) had a working encounter on August 10 with leaders of the Council of Kiama City to review the implementation of the agreement inked in November 2008 between Hội An and Kiama to found the twin relationship.

The two sides also discussed ways to advance their cooperation in tourism.

Earlier, on August 8, a meeting was convened in Kitakyushu City of Japan’s Fukuoka Province in order to establish the Kitakyushu-Việt Nam Association.

With 44 official members, the Association is expected to help cement and deepen economic, technical and cultural cooperation between Kitakyushu in particular and Fukuoka Province in general and Việt Nam.

Leaders and enterprises of Kitakyushu all confirmed their interest and desire to expand cooperation with Việt Nam. In April, Kitakyushu inked an agreement on cooperation with Việt Nam’s seaport city of Hải Phòng.
