The contest will include four age divisions – under 12 years old, 13-17 years old, 13-59 years old, and 60 years old.

They will undergo 10 memorising events, including one-hour numbers, 5-minute numbers, 30-minute binary digits and 15-minute random lists of words.

As scheduled, the preliminary selection is also for 19 May, 16 June, 21 July, and 18 August. The final will run on 19 and 20 October.

The contest will select a champion, who will pocket VND300 million (US$13,000), first and second runners-up, who will obtain VND 200 and 100 million, respectively.

They will represent Viet Nam at the World Memory Championships 2019 in Wuhan, China.

This is the first time such a memory competition is going to be organized in Viet Nam.

The World Memory Championships has taken place annually since 1991, with the exception of 1992, celebrating competitors who can memorize specific information in a given period of time.
