Heads of sub-committees of National ASEAN 2020 Committee named

24 members of the National ASEAN 2020 Committee are leaders from ministries and agencies. 

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung works as head of the sub-committees for contents and receptions and head of the secretariat. 

Vice Chairman of the Government Office Nguyen Xuan Thanh is the head of the subcommittee for materials and logistics. 

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Quang Tung is assigned to hold responsible for the sub-committee for communications and culture. 

Head of the sub-committee for security and health is Deputy Minister of Public Security Bui Van Nam. 

Earlier, the PM decided to establish the national committee preparing for Viet Nam’s role as the Chair of ASEAN in 2020. 

The committee aims to help the PM direct, supervise, coordinate, and guide the ministries, offices and localities to work in the fields related to the preparations for and implementation of the role.

It also assists the PM on guiding and monitoring the coordination between ministries, agencies and localities in addressing related issues and launching tasks and measures relevant to Viet Nam taking over the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2020.
