This is part of the a cooperation project between Viet Nam and Australia, known as Aus4Innovation, which was first developed in 2017.

The project will undertake targeted interventions to improve Viet Nam’s innovation capacity through research commissioned to underpin preparedness for a digital future, industry relevant research and technology transfer in agriculture, and modes of creative thinking in education to feed an entrepreneurial and start-up economy.

Chu Ngoc Anh, Minister of Science and Technology, said the project will gradually help modernize the above sectors by commercializing research outcomes in the face of the 4th industrial revolution.

Through this project, Australia expects to share best knowledge and experience in both public and private sectors to assist Viet Nam in taking advantages of new technologies to build the future of the economy, said Australian Ambassador to Viet Nam Craig Chittick.

Under the project, Vietnamese and Australian researchers will collaborate to identify scenarios of the impacts of technological, environmental, social and economic trends on Vietnamese economy over the next decades.

There will be two case studies which are expected to provide insight into the future of agriculture and manufacturing, as priority sectors critical for sustained economic growth and at risk from digital transformation./.
