This is the first ministry meeting on reviewing works in 2018 and launching tasks for 2019 the PM has joined in the first days of 2019.

The agriculture-forestry-aquaculture exports in 2018 witnessed a remarkable growth, setting a new record of US$40 billion.

The sector has become a crucial pillar of the economy and a strong growth force with the growth of 3.76%, the highest figure over the recent seven years.

Viet Nam has asserted its status as one of the leading nations in exporting agricultural products in the world (ranking 15th among 180 nations and territories).

In 2018, as many as 2,200 new agricultural firms were established, an increase of 12% against in 2017. A total number of 9,200 enterprises are operating in this field so far.

At the meeting, the MARD will propose measures and action plans to gain more achievements in 2019, with the aim of gaining US$43 billion from exporting in this year and attaining the growth of over 3%.
