Gov’t chief receives U.S. Ambassador

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted a reception for U.S. Ambassador to Viet Nam Daniel J. Kritenbrink on the threshold of the New Year 2019 on December 26 in Ha Noi.

PM Phuc praised the Ambassador for promoting and deepening the comprehensive ties in favor of respective practical benefits, regional peace, cooperation, and development. 

The host leader expressed the pleasure to witness the fine developments in the bilateral ties especially robust exports of the U.S. to Viet Nam. 

He also took the occasion to thank the U.S. for creating favorable ways for Vietnamese exports including tra fish, shrimps and fruits, to the U.S. market. 

M Phuc expressed his gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump and the US Congress for providing funds for the accomplishment of a toxic chemical remediation project at Da Nang International Airport and the deployment of a similar project at Bien Hoa airport.

In reply, Mr. Kritenbrink expressed his delight at the positive development of the bilateral relationship after PM Phuc’s visit to the US and US President Trump’s trip to Viet Nam in 2017.

The guest leader treasured the government, ministries and sectors of Viet Nam for their efforts in beefing up the bilateral relations, including the settlement of matters related to automobiles, agricultural products, e-payment and the law on cyber security raised by U.S. enterprises.

The ambassador stressed that the U.S. would continue assisting Viet Nam in coping with the war aftermath and hoped to step up cooperation with the nation in all spheres, including security and defence.

Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink said the U.S considers Viet Nam a leading important partner in the region and wants to develop its relations with Viet Nam as well as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) for regional peace, cooperation and development../.
