Protection of national border markers between Vietnamese, Lao localities enhanced

Participants in the event included leaders of representatives from these three provinces. 

Realizing the approved plan on increasing the number of VietNam-Laos national border markers approved by the two Governments and the spirit of friendship and special cooperation between the two nations, Quang Tri Province and the two Lao provinces enhanced active and close cooperation in effectively increasing and planting border markers in the 2008-2016 phase. 

The three provinces finished the border marker increase and upgrading at 62 positions with a total of 68 markers as well as added 37 pairs of auxiliary stakes at 24 locations.

After completing the work, the border between Quang Tri and the two Lao provinces had additional 37 positions and 38 border markers.

Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Province's People's Committee Ha Sy Dong proposed leaders of these province assign border management forces promote cooperation to ensure the safety of border markers, making contributions to building a border line of peace, cooperation and development. 

The same occasion, leaders from these provinces signed an agreement on management and protection of border markers.
