Activities mark 74th anniversary of VN People’s Army

VGP - Nearly 300 photos, documents, and artifacts were on display at an exhibition in Ha Noi on December 20 highlighting the development and achievements of the Viet Nam People’s Army over the past 74th years and the 29th anniversary of the All-people Defence Festival.

An exhibition featuring Viet Nam’s generals in two resistance wars against the French and American troops.

Works on display include photos, documents, and objects which highlight the care of the Party, State, and late President Ho Chi Minh to generals of the Viet Nam People’s Army during the resistance wars, as well as portraits of the generals in major fights and battle fields in the wars.

On the same day, an exhibition also commenced in Ho Chi Minh City under the theme ‘Following the footprints of Uncle Ho’s soldiers’, showcasing photos and books on renowned Vietnamese generals and commanders.

A gathering of 471 retired army officers was organised in Dak Lak province yesterday, during which Fatherland Defence Orders were presented to 41 outstanding retired army officials in recognition of their service to the country.

The Thua Thien – Hue provincial Department of Information and Communications in collaboration with the Viet Nam – Republic of Korea Friendship Information Technology College visited and presented 10 computers and books, worth nearly VND100 million, to soldiers and officers at the locality’s A Dot and Vinh Hien border guard stations.

The event aims to fuel the national pride and patriotism among the armed forces and people, particularly the young generation, thus encouraging them to safeguard the homeland.
