Top 500 largest Vietnamese enterprises announced

This has been the 12th year the rankings was released to honor businesses which achieved outstanding results in 2018 financial year. Besides the VNR500, Viet Nam Report also announced a list of top 500 Vietnamese private enterprises in 2018.

Emerging private sector

The private sector continued to emerge in the VNR500 2018. The Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of the list of top 500 private enterprises surged remarkably in the 2014-2017 period at 21.8%.

Five sectors topped revenue incomes including finance (accounting for 15.1%); food, beverage and tobacco (14.3%); construction, building materials, and real estate (13.9%); steel (11.7%); telecom, IT (9.2%). These sectors made up 64.2% of revenue and 75.5% of after-tax-profits. 

Transforming towards processing industry

Over the last few years, proportions of large enterprises operating in services and industries in VNR500 grew extremely; accounting for 98.4% of total revenue in 2018. Meanwhile, agricultural contribution was only 1.6%. 

Regarding industries, the processing industry occupied 43.7% of revenue in the VNR500. Meanwhile, the mining industry only accounted for 12%./.
