Prince Andrew asked to help boost VN-UK innovation, education cooperation

VGP –PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his hope that Prince Andrew, Duke of York would help boost cooperation in startup, innovation and education between Viet Nam and the UK at the pair’s meeting on Tuesday.

The Government chief welcomed Prince Andrew to Viet Nam on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Viet Nam-UK diplomatic relations, affirming the Southeast Asian country always attaches importance to the strategic partnership with the UK.

He suggested both sides continue deepening the bilateral ties through exchange of high-level delegations and effective operation of their cooperative mechanisms like strategic dialogue and joint committee on economic and trade cooperation.

PM Phuc asked Prince Andrew to play an active role in encouraging more enterprises from the UK to do business in Viet Nam, affirming the Government always creates favorable conditions for foreign investors, including those from the European country.

Prince Andrew shared his ideas on how to develop small- and medium-sized enterprises as well as startup and innovations in Viet Nam.

He pledged to participate in future startup and innovation events in Viet Nam in a bid to contribute beefing up development of this domain in Viet Nam.

During his stay, Prince Andrew also met with Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan and attended the Pitch@Palace Viet Nam 1.0 held for the first time in Ho Chi Minh City./.
