HN to host Formula One Grand Prix in 2020

The capital city of Ha Noi will host the Formula One Grand Prix

The Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee, Vingroup, and Grand Prix Viet Nam jointly organized a press conference on the event. Accordingly, Viet Nam is the 22nd country which hosts Formula One (F1). 

At the press briefing, Chase Carey, President and CEO of Formula One Group said that F1 usually selects dynamic cities and destinations which draw much public concerns and Ha Noi is the first choice. 

Mr. Chase Carey highly spoke of the partnership with Ha Noi in particular and Viet Nam in general. 

The CEO also hoped that the relations would become closer, helping to bring Ha Noi closer to the world and the world closer to Ha Noi. 

The organization of F1 race in Ha Noi is a strategic development of the group in Asia. 

Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung announced that the city will host the Formula One Grand Prix scheduled in April, 2020, targeting to popularize the images of Ha Noi and Viet Nam to the world, entertain the public with its weekend events, and attract more foreign tourists to the city. 

The My Dinh National Sports Complex is chosen to host the race which will have the length of 5,565 meters.

On the evening of November 7, Ha Noi will hold a music show to celebrate its hosting of the upcoming race. 

Ha Noi will be the second city to host the race in 2020, following Singapore./.
