The 2018 Asia-Pacific Intangible Cultural Heritage Non-Government Organization Conference is organized in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue from November 6-8, 2018 |
The conference aims to strengthen exchanges and comprehend the relations between the intangible cultural heritages and sustainable development to grant power for NGOs to join in preserving the intangible cultural heritages.
It also creates an opportunity for cultural researchers and managers in Viet Nam to receive more experience in preservation and development of intangible cultural heritages.
Delegates at the conference also shared experience in activities of the NGOs to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and seek for measures to establish a system for protection of the intangible cultural heritages in the upcoming time.
Viet Nam currently haves 62,283 confirmed pieces of intangible cultural heritages, including 271 national heritages and 12 UNESCO-recognized ones.
Director the Hue Monuments Conservation Centre Phan ThanhHai said that the Vietnamese Government in general and Thua Thien-Hue Province in particular are willing to join hand with the international organizations in intangible cultural heritages in the Asia-Pacific and other nations in the region to preserve and uphold intangible cultural heritages for sustainable development.
The first Asia-Pacific Intangible Cultural Heritage Non-Government Organization Conference was held in Jeonju, the Republic of Korea in November 2016.
