Japan expected to support CPTPP implementation

The statement was made by National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong during her reception for a delegation of the former parliamentarians association of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan, led by Mr. Saito Toshitsugu, in Ha Noi on November 6.

The Vietnamese NA has always supported the intensive strategic partnership between Viet Nam and Japan, Ms. Phong asserted, speaking highly of the role that incumbent and former Japanese parliamentarians play in fostering the relationship between the two countries.

Regarding Japan as one of Viet Nam’s leading economic partners, she expressed her hope that the two countries will continue expanding their partnership in all fields, meeting expectation of their people and for peace and prosperity in the region and the world.

The NA Vice Chairwoman said that the Vietnamese NA is scheduled to ratify the CPTPP on November 12, hoping that the Japanese side would support Viet Nam during the implementation of the deal.

For his side, Mr. Saito Toshitsugu hailed important achievements of Viet Nam during its process of national construction and development and the active role of Viet Nam in regional and international issues.

He pledged to make efforts to upgrade the extensive strategic partnership between the two countries more comprehensively and practically in the time ahead.
