Nha Trang welcomes more than 1.4 million Chinese visitors

VGP - The coastal city of Nha Trang welcomed over 2,332,000 foreign visitors, including over 1,406,000 Chinese tourists, and more than 3,066,000 domestic visitors during the first 10 months of this year.

Accordingly, the number of visitors to Nha Trang in the first ten months of 2018 is estimated at 5.3 million, marking a 115% rise from the same period last year.

Of the total holidaymakers in the ten months, over 3 million were domestic tourists, making a 101% rise from the same period last year.

Nha Trang welcomed over 2.3 million foreign visitors, a 141% increase from the same period last year, whilst the number of Chinese tourists to the city rose by 156%.

In addition to the Chinese visitors, Nha Trang is a popular destination for tourists from Japan, the Republic of Korea and Malaysia with 10,000-50,000 people  a year.

Since early this year, more than 333,000 Russian people have visited Nha Trang, up by more than 103% while visitors from traditional markets like the UK, France, Germany and the US reached around 8,000 to 16,000 people.

The provincial department noted foreign visitors to Nha Trang are mainly from China and Russia. The beach destination is also a favorite destination for Russian tourists, who totaled more than 330,000 in the 10-month period, a 103% increase from the same period last year.  

In addition, the provincial People’s Committee has announced a plan to organize the 9th Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea Festival, which takes place from May 11 to 14, 2019.

Many kinds of culture, art, sport and tourism activities will be held in the 9th edition of the festival. The festival aims to promote the cultural value of Viet Nam, particularly NhaTrang. 

According to the plan, the opening ceremony of the festival and the 2019 National Tourism Year is scheduled to be held on the evening of May 11 while the closing ceremony will be on May 14.
