Number of new firms in 10 months up 4.3%

VGP – A total number of 109,611 new firms were established over the recent 10 months of 2018, with the registered capital of VND1,116 trillion, up 4.3% and 9.2% in terms of number and capital against the same period last year, respectively, according to the General Statistics Office.

Whole sale, retails, automobile and motorbike fixing took the lead in the number of new firms set up in 10 months with 38,100 ones.

The average capital for a new firm was estimated at VND10.2 billion, up 4.7%. 

Enterprises added VND2,045 trillion in capital to the economy, raising the total newly-registered and additional capital to the economy to VND3,161 billion in 10 months. 

In addition, 27,935 firms re-operated, up 22.7%, raising the total number of new and re-operated enterprises to more than 137,500 ones in 10 months. 

As many as 78,404 enterprises stopped operating in 10 months, up 48.5% and 53,937 others temporarily stopped operating or waited for dissolution, up 62.6%.
