Prime Minister receives Coca-Cola’s senior official

VGP – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed that the Vietnamese Government always creates favorable conditions and open mechanisms for investors, during his reception for Calin Dragan, President of Bottling Investments Group (BIG) at The Coca-Cola Company, in Ha Noi on October 26.

The PM highly appreciated Coca-Cola’s business and investment activities in Viet Nam, stating that as a big investor, the company has created thousands of jobs and has manufactured many diverse products by using domestic materials.

In addition to fulfilling its tax payment obligations, Coca-Cola has been actively engaged in social activities in Viet Nam, he said.

Calin Dragan recalled his meeting with PM Phuc on the occasion of the Vietnamese leader’s visit to the United States in May 2017, noting that he always keeps in mind the PM’s ideas, especially including the increased use of Viet Nam’s materials.

Coca-Cola is planning to seek the ground in Ha Noi to open its fourth factory in Viet Nam, he said, revealing that the company will continue opening another in Ho Chi Minh City by 2020.

The senior Coca-Cola official extended his gratitude to the PM and the Government of Viet Nam for creating a favorable environment for businesses, while affirming his firm’s commitment to fulfilling not only tax payment obligations but also social responsibilities.

PM Phuc expressed his delights to be informed that Coca-Cola is accelerating its production activities to the northern part of Viet Nam, including a plan to build a US$300 million manufacturing area in Ha Noi, which is expected to directly use thousands of laborers and create indirect jobs for tens of thousands of other workers.
