HN: CPI jumps slightly in Oct.

VGP – The consumer price index (CPI) in October saw a month-on-month rise of 0.24% and a year-on-year growth of 4.09%, according to the Ha Noi Statistics Office.

Prices of petrol were on the rise; followed by garments, hats, and footwear up 0.48% against the previous month; culture, entertainment, and tourism (up 0.44%). 

Restaurants, catering service, post and telecoms experienced a month-on-month decline of 0.08%. 

The group of housing, power, water, fuel, and building materials witnessed a month-on-month rise of 0.31%. 

Although petrol prices were cut two times on October 6 and 22, petrol costs still grew 3.49% against the previous month. 

Gold and USD prices picked up 0.4% against September./.
