VN, Belarus head to trade value of US$500 million

At the meeting, Vladimir Andreichenko praised Viet Nam’s achievements in economic development and the country’s rising international profile. He used the occasion to repeat the invitation for Ngan to pay a visit to Belarus and expected to welcome a Vietnamese business delegation also accompanying her.

Viet Nam and Belarus will hold a Vietnam-Belarus Business Forum to boost trade exchange towards the US$500 two-way trade target in the future, he said.

The two sides are destined to discuss the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two legislative bodies as well as measures to augment bilateral cooperation during the visit.

Both sides also consented to expand cooperation in their diverse potential areas. 

In turn,  Ngan assured Viet Nam’s high regard for the development of traditional friendship and all-around cooperation with Belarus, noting that regular meetings between parliamentarians of Viet Nam and Belarus indicate the sound and traditional friendship between the two nations as well as the two legislatures.

She emphasied that Vietnam always remembered and greatly valued the support Belarus provided for Viet Nam during the past struggle for national liberation and the current national defence process.

The top Vietnamese legislator said she hopes that the two sides will continue to offer mutual support at international organizations and forums, especially the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement.

She voiced Viet Nam’s desire to step up cooperation in economy-trade and other aspects, including national defence, science-technology, culture, and education with Belarus, together with the effective implementation of the free trade agreement (FTA) between Viet Nam and the Eurasia Economic Union (EAEU), to expand economic-trade cooperation and investment between the nations.
