Deputy PM receives FEC Vice President

Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue receives FEC Vice President Yoshihiko Nakagaki,  Ha Noi,  October 9, 2018

At the reception, Yoshihiko Nakagaki expressed support for Viet Nam’s development policy in the near future and highlighted the sustainable development of the State budget, transport-infrastructure, energy, and the private sector. 

He said FEC will make active and effective contributions to collaboration between the two nations’ business communities, and political and socio-economic organisations in the near future.  

In turn, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue expressed delight at the increasing political trust via the exchange of visits at all levels, Hue lauded FEC for promoting the Viet Nam-Japan friendship over the past few years. 

The Deputy Prime Minister said the Government is directing agencies to review the 10-year implementation of the socio-economic development strategy for the 2011-2020 period, towards achieving rapid and sustainable growth. 

In order to strengthen the macro-economy, he said Viet Nam has given direction towards tightening fiscal policy, flexible foreign currency and exchange rate policy; expanding export markets; and boosting domestic consumption. Despite uncertainties in global events, Viet Nam’s inflation is kept under control and public debt reduced. 

At the same time, Viet Nam will also step up trade liberalisation and global economic integration, reform domestic mechanisms and policies, and improve its business climate towards becoming among the top four ASEAN economies by 2020, he said, adding that Viet Nam advocates accelerating international investment on the back of its 12 free trade agreements. 

The host called for Japanese investment in science-technology, finance, and energy with advanced technologies, good governance, and links with Vietnamese partners. 

Viet Nam is building an economic development strategy for 2020-2030 to ensure balanced development amongst the region, and is ready to welcome Japanese firms wanting to do business in the country, he added.
