At the meeting, the two sides hailed the traditional relationship and comprehensive strategic partnership over the recent years, especially the outcomes of Party General Secretary Nguyen PhuTrong’s official visit to Russia in early September, which has created more forces for bilateral cooperation in the upcoming time. 

The Vietnamese National Assembly is actively preparing for the upcoming visit to Viet Nam made by the Chairman of the State Duma of Russia at the end of the year, said Ms. Ngan, adding that the two sides will exchange issues related to the relations between the two nations, parliaments and issues of mutual concerns during the visit. 

Chairman of the State Duma of Russia proposed the two sides promote their relationship to a higher level and create a new mechanism to tackle issues relevant to their citizens and raise the two-way trade value. 

The Vietnamese top legislator agreed with Russia’s proposal on the establishment of the Viet Nam-Russia inter-parliamentary committee, and asked both sides to discuss the issue further during Mr. Volodin’s visit. 

She expected that both sides will cooperate to supervise the implementation of the inked bilateral agreements.   

Mr. Volodin invited Ms. Ngan to pay an official visit to Russia and the Vietnamese leader said that she would pay an official visit to Russia in the time ahead.
