VN treasures defence ties and cooperation with India

At the reception, Major General G. Jaishankar expressed his delight at the positive development of the bilateral defense cooperation and congratulated Viet Nam on the deployment of the first military Level-2 Field Hospital to South Sudan.

The Indian general said that with its experience in joining UN peacekeeping operations and military medicine, the Indian military is willing to further share experience and support Vietnamese military in the fields.

In turn, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Viet Nam People’s Army Sen. Lieut. Gen Pham Hong Huong has affirmed Viet Nam always attaches importance to the defence ties with India, 

He highlighted the relationship’s development in all aspects, especially in training, the UN’s peace keeping activities, and defence industry.

Lauding support from the Indian army in the past time, Huong suggested both sides deepen the bilateral collaboration, with focus on training, military medicine, engineering, and experience sharing in the UN’s peace keeping operations.
