PM chairs conference on 30 years of FDI attraction

Under the theme “New vision and opportunities in new era,” the event drew the attendance of speakers from different ministries, localities, and agencies, foreign investment experts, domestic and overseas business associations. Delegates are expected to discuss strategies, orientations, and solutions pertaining to foreign investment in the new era. 

The Foreign Investment Agency reported that as of late September, 2018, Viet Nam had 26,646 FDI valid projects with a total registered capital of US$ 334 billion in 19 out of the 21 economic fields in Viet Nam. 

The manufacturing industry occupied the largest proportion of 57.1% of the total FDI amount. So far, 129 foreign countries and territories have invested in Viet Nam of which the Republic of Korea and Japan were the largest investors with nearly US$ 117 billion. 

The conference comprises sessions for domestic and foreign investors to boost domestic and foreign investment on such areas as manufacturing, construction, real estate, renewable energy, infrastructure, logistics, tourism, service, IT, agriculture, food processing, as well as finance-banking.

An exhibition on foreign investment achievements with around 100 booths will be held./.
