VN sends field hospital to South Sudan for first time

Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, Head of the Permanent Delegation of Viet Nam to the United Nations and UN Under-Secretary-General for Field Support Atul Khare ink a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Viet Nam’s deployment of a field hospital to South Sudan in New York on September 26

The MoU has manifested the cooperation between Viet Nam and the UN in peace-keeping activity. This is the first time Viet Nam has sent military doctors to participate in the UN’s peacekeeping force. 

As many as 63 military doctors and health equipment will be sent to South Sudan to take over a field hospital of the United Kingdom.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Khare expected that Viet Nam will deploy a high-quality hospital that can effectively contribute to the UN’s peacekeeping activities, expressing his hope that the nation will make more contributions to the UN’s important mission.

The see-off ceremony will be organized on October 1 at Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
