The leaders discussed opening the Vietnamese market for Egyptian exports, among discussions on revitalising touristic and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
Several deals related to attracting trade, supporting agriculture, and cooperating in the field of fuel were also signed during the visit, according to the newspaper.
Ahram also highlighted Egypt-Viet Nam trade and investment relations in recent years. Viet Nam imports chemicals, honey, petroleum products, dairy products and textiles from Egypt at a value of US$8.7 million annually. Egypt imports US$221.3 million worth of Vietnamese goods annually, including fish, seafood, textiles, clothing, mobile phones, equipment, spare parts, and vehicles.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian Mail weekly posted an article about the State visit by the Vietnamese leader on its front page. It said the summit talks between the two presidents reflected the political will to promote the countries’ multifaceted relations. The article noted that Egypt and Viet Nam are working to enhance economic and investment cooperation.
In statements to the Middle East News Agency (MENA), the Egyptian President’s Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said that the talks between El-Sisi and Quang reflected the huge positive development in bilateral relations in an unprecedented way in addition to the provision of a joint political will to boost these relations at all levels, especially in agriculture and industry.-VNA
