Among the 40 brands with a total estimated value of US$8.1 billion are household names such as Vinamilk, Vingroup, HDBank, NutiFood, Vietjet Air, Mobile World, Hoa Phat, and TTC.

Companies being honored by Forbes this year have the total brand’s value of more than US$8 billion, an increase of 50%over the list in 2017.

The positive sign is attributed to the strong growth of the securities market, leading to an increase in the average P/E ratio of all sectors. In addition, businesses with valuable brands have made remarkable changes in their product ranges and expanded to new markets, which has been rewarded with greater profits.

Some brands have made their first appearance on this year’s list including Vinhomes and Vincom Retail thanks to publicized financial data listed on the stock market, which has provided the basis for Forbes Viet Nam to evaluate the brands.

The 2018 list continued to receive data shared by some unlisted companies including VNG, NutiFood, TH Group, and Trung Nguyen.

The list of 40 most valuable brands is collated and published annually by Forbes Viet Nam by measuring the value of a brand through financial data. The most valuable brands are those earning the largest revenues in the sectors in which these brands dominate.

Brands’ value was measured by Forbes global method, based on public transparent financial data. According to Forbes, all the most valuable brands have large revenue in their industries.
