Number of new firms up nearly 4% in seven months

VGP – As many as 11,262 enterprises were set up in July with the total registered capital of VND122,100 billion, bringing the total number of new firms over the recent seven months to 75,793, worth VND771,100 billion, up 3.9% and 11.6% in terms of the number of capital against the same period last year.

Retail sales and automibile and motorbike repair take the lead in the number of new firms in seven months, accounting for 33.9%.

The average capital for a new firm reached VND10.2 billion, up 7.4%. The total additional capital from businesses was estimated at VND1.460 trillion, making the total registered and additional capital to the economy attain VND2.231 trillion over the recent seven months. 

In July, 18,696 businesses re-operated, a year-on-year increase of 6.5%, raising the total number of re-operated enterprises to 94,500 in seven months. 

The total number of jobs created by new firms obtained 623,500 in seven months, down 13.5%. 

The Red River Delta and the Southeast are most attractive destinaitons for newly-established enterprises over the recent seven months of 2018 with respective registered capital of VND225,100 billion and VND356,600 billion. .

A total number of 59,910 enterprises stopped operating over the recent seven months of 2018, up 38.4% against the same period last year.
