Thailand, VN foster defense cooperation

At the reception, Lieutenant General Parinya Khoonnasee briefed the host about the outcomes of his earlier working session with agencies of Viet Nam’s Ministry of Defence.

He hailed the defence cooperation between two countries over recent times, especially in exchanging young officers and experience sharing.

Khoonnasee said he hoped the two countries’ armies would expand collaboration in search and rescue efforts and natural disaster mitigation. 

In turn, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Minister of Defence Viet Nam attaches great importance to defence ties with Thailand and hopes to deepen collaboration in this field.

Mr. Vinh highlighted the growing relations between Viet Nam and Thailand, and emphasised that Viet Nam supports Thailand chairing the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) 2019.
