PM: Industry 4.0 requires Government to change itself

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc stressed the need to successfully build an e-Government towards constructing a digital Government in Viet Nam, during the Viet Nam ICT Summit 2018 in Ha Noi on July 18.

The cabinet leader stated that the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) has opened up a new era in the development process of the mankind, with the digital age expected to have strong impacts on all activities of the Government and the entire society. 

The Government Office has been assigned to develop a resolution on major tasks and solutions in e-Government development for the period of 2018-2020, with a vision towards 2025, he said.

The PM asked ministries, agencies and localities to continue to improve the quality of legal institutions and policies, aiming to create a foundation for the building of the e-Government, including strengthening information technology (IT) application, data connection and sharing, protection of personal information, electronic authentication of individuals and organizations, and email archiving. 

PM Phuc urged the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) to report the specific recommendations raised at the forum to the Government leader, while assigning VINASA to work with other social organizations to inspect and report on the implementation of e-Government building tasks and goals, as well as the acceleration of the digital economy’s access to Industry 4.0.
