Gov’t demands strict supervision of Facebook’s misinformation fixing

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc has tasked the Minister of Information and Communications to strictly supervise Facebook in fixing inaccurate information on its map wrongly depicting Viet Nam’s sovereignty.

The social media giant’s map has sparked outrage among Vietnamese people as it depicted Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos as part of China.

Facebook said it was a technical mistake and removed the inaccurate information on the map at the request of the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications.

Facebook also promised to update the map./.
