Viettel announces profits at overseas markets

VGP – As of the end of June 2018, Viettel Group, Viet Nam's largest mobile network operator, announced it made profit at eight out of its ten overseas markets, according to the corporation on July 6.

The eight markets include Peru, Cambodia, Laos, Haiti, Burundi, Timor-Leste, Mozambique and Cameroon.

The corporation made capital recovery from Laos, Cambodia and Timor-Leste. 

Representatives from Viettel said that in 2017, the corporation’s revenue growth in Tanzania increased 35% while as many as one million subscribers in Myanmar have been recorded after only 10 days of operation, the highest growth in the world. 

Currently, Viettel has been ranked among top 15 largest telecommunication corporations in terms of subscribers and top 40 in terms of revenue in the world. 

Viettel has invested in 10 foreign markets with total population of 240 million people in Asia, Africa and the Americas.

It aims to expand its investment market to a population of 400 to 500 million people and join the world’s top 10 biggest telecoms firms by 2020.
