Key instructions, policies announced during past week

VGP – The following is some of the key instructions and policies announced by the Government of Viet Nam from June 23-July 1.

* The Government will spend at least VND 401 billion to consolidate and develop school facilities in mountainous, ethnic and disadvantaged areas until 2020, according to the latest program approved by PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

* According to Decision No. 772/QD-TTg signed by PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the Government will organize general population and housing survey census from April 1, 2019.

* The Government has issued Resolution No. 83/NQ-CP figuring out measures to improve legal corridors for BOT investment projects, under which the Government asked for stricter regulations on selection of the BOT projects and removal of unreasonable toll fees.

* The Government has promulgated Decree No. 87/2018/ND-CP on conditions to conduct gas business, scheduled to take place from August 1, 2018.

The Government also pressed inferior levels to review the localtion of BOT toll gates to harmonize the interests of the State, investors and citizens.

* PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc has tasked ministries and agencies to reduce 50% of the list of goods subject to specialized inspection before customs clearance before July 30, 2018.

* PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc assigned the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to organize a national level conference on combatting child abuse and violence in July this year.

* The Government has warned people to be fully aware of the risks when joining crypto currency transactions.

Earlier on August 2017, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc signed Decision No. 1255/QD-TTg approving a Project to improve legal framework for management of crypto currency, in which he tasked the Ministry of Justice to review the status of crypto currency in Viet Nam and complete legal proposals to manage it right in 2018./.
