Vietnamese delegates openly exchanged ideas on the achievements and challenges of the Vietnamese economy, in addition to the policy priorities that Viet Nam should focus on in order to improve the growth quality and ensure long-term sustainable development and social equality.

On the occasion, some other contents, including the technology transfer policies of countries in the world, the role of cities as a driver of national competitiveness, the allocation of budget between localities, and the handling of challenges posed by climate change in the Mekong Delta region, were also on the agenda.

The VELP is a high-level policy exchange program that has been launched since 2008 at the initiative of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry and Harvard University.

On the same day, Deputy PM Hue visited the Media Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he was introduced to the laboratories researching the advanced technologies developed from creative ideas, such as thought control, the future of sound, the formation of virtual workplace, and digital currency.

The MIT Media Lab, founded in 1985, is considered a place “inventing the future” as it takes the lead in researching technologies that will be used in reality after decades later.
